Bruised Bumper on a '61 Electra

My 1961 Electra has a rear bumper that is in 95% great shape!

Unfortunately the 5% is the right side where the bumper extends outward.

It's been crunched in and has daylight shining through a crack/break where the bullet point once was.

I'm guessing it is not going to be repairable at a down & dirty price, so I'm considering the possibility there may be another good one with decent chrome out there some where.

Give me a holler if you see one sitting in a heap somewhere!

    Thanks!!!

You could contact Jerry Hammer at GM Obsolete in Phoenix, Arizona :Comp:

But he's not really selling his parts for low prices, and shipping will be another issue.

Model year 1962 is different, and model year 1960 was a totally different car.

    Here's Rick's rear bumper:

Contact the Bumper Boyz (www.bumperboyz.com or 1-800-815-9009). You can get a new rear bumper w/rear guards for $810 w/an exchange, or $1050 w/o an exchange. It seems spendy but these guys do great work.

Thanks to you all for the replies and for the sources Erik. I'll probably need to wait some and see what happens with my shop purchase. Better save the available currency!

The bumper will be needed, I'm sure. I'll post a picture of the damage when I get a chance. I suppose someone on top of their game could straighten, weld and re-chrome this one. I'll send bumperboyz a photo and see what their thoughts are. Anyone used these guyz? I've seen bad re-chroming start to flake and peel and do not ever wish to kiss greenbacks goodbye for anything less than great!

    Thanks again to you all!

Here in Europe I hear a lot of bad things about the Bumper Boys, a lot of their work is showing rust on the inside of the bumper.

There are quite a few V8Buick board members with bad experiences with that company:
