looking to upgrade the connecting rods in the 1964 300 Cu motor in my 64 Skylark...Does anyone offer a chrome molly rod for the 300 Buick?

Where could I take a stock rod and have them made a custom version with better materials?

Or any solutions on off the shelf rods and what would needed to be done to make them work?

Unless your building the motor for 200 mile long NASCAR racing I would just send your 8 rods out to be cryo tempered and then have new bolts installed, checked and then resized as needed.

your only other option would be to have Billet rods made if I had to guess.

RPM will take out rods, unless your winging the 300 to the moon (7000/8000 rpm) for a long time, have your stockers machined

2 DOT GN rods may work if the bearing is the same width.

Odd fire 75-77 3.8 capscrew V6 rods if you can find them. For forged, 6" small journal SBC rods are the way to go. Rod pin hole has to be bored to Buick size.

If you are looking at forged rods, are you looking at forged pistons as well? If so you might consider ex-nascar take outs on ebay for around $100 a set. The rod journals on the crank will have to be ground down to fit. Then you might consider fitting a 350 crank as well. Or a roller cam. Or TA heads. Or roller rockers. Or a blower... Just sayin.
