My truck that I bought this year came with a Buick 455. I need to know if any body has seen this truck before and know any information about it. The guy that owned it before passed away and his ex-wife sold the truck. Now I own it! Its black with centerline wheels. The owner before me raced it at Atlanta Dragway in GA. If any informantion about this truck or questions please write back or e-mail me at Buick455truck@aol.com
Cool!! Welcome to the board....got any pics to share? I don't have any info on this truck, nor have I ever heard of it...but if there is anyone that knows about it, they will be on this board.:TU:
hello brian, i once had a '65 chevy truck with a BBB in it. it was an all stock electra motor and tranny. that old beater would run high 13's!!!(that's 1/4 mile times, not 1/8 mile) i am currently building a BBB that's going into a '84 swb chevy truck. i'd love to see some pics of your set up. so far the only stumbeling block is header clearance issues. any info. on your truck will be much appreciated (and needed) thanks.
What we need is a new category for "Buick Engines in non-Buick Vehicles" or such. I'm contemplating a similar install if I can find a good candidate for the transplant. Willys PU maybe..??
excellent idea! i remember reading some older posts on hotrodders.com of some guys wanting to do the same thing. there's really not much info. on this kind of engine swap. i know with stock manifolds, the swap into a chevy truck is pretty easy, but headers are another story. maybe someone else can chime in to give a little advice on the particulars of a transplant such as this.
i don't mean to try to jack your thread brian, i hope you get the information you're looking for so you can share it with the rest of us! after all we're all breathing, sweating and bleeding BUICK!
Thanks for all the information on the truck. The guy that owned it was a BIG BUICK NUT and had other Buick cars. Just seeing if anybody knew anything about the truck. Painted the truck in primer 11/12/03 it is Dark grey. Going to build the Buick 455 in three weeks and drop it in the truck with the supercomp TA headers. Hope they fit! Thanks again and keep on replying!!!
455 in a truck... Hey Brian, 455 trucks are way cool, and yours sure sounds like an awesome truck. My buddy has a 65 GMC shortbed,455 BBB adapted to 2 speed powerslide with 3.54 posi, that he shows. This truck also has plenty of go to go with the show !!! Kirk
