Haven't posted here in a while. Been messing with the turbo car a lot, but I had the big block out the other evening, just tooling around town. In my rear view mirror I see a '68 GMC truck, primer gray in color. We come to a stopping place and the guy starts asking me about the car. I tell him him it's just a Buick motor with 2.73 peg leg rear end.....no big deal:Brow: So he tells me about his Chevy 350 powered truck with new heads, intake, carb, 4:11 rear....bla, bla, bla.........I wasn't really paying attention after a while. Just another chevy truck....anyway, he says "Let's go run 'em" So I say "Man, that's not fair, you've got that built up motro and good gears, you'll kill me" He says "I know, but I just want to see how mine is running, I just did some work on it today. If you don't want to, we don't have to". I say "No, no....I'll go run you...not fair though.... So we proceed out to the edge of town. First run from a stop: I spin at take-off and he gets about a car length jump on me. I catch him by about 60 mph and pass him. I say "Let's do that 1 more time" Second run: I nurse the take off and get my foot in it about mid way through second gear. I run off and leave him like he is standing still! He was VERY dissappointed! After the race he asked to look under my hood. He says "Is that a 350?" I say "Nope just a little old Buick 455" He says "Man that thing runs" I say "Just wait until I get a posi rear end! Gotta go, we'll see you around. Love your truck!" Another vulgar display of the dominance of Buick power!! :Smarty: Hopefully this man will do something his parents never did. Pass this story on to his offspring, and stress that Buicks are like pitbulls......better left alone.
