    Freak?

Not sure what you mean by freak? There is a lot of passion involved when you spend all your time and money to have exactly what you want in a car or cars. The fact that we spend this passion on a car that is not quite as popular with others folks points out the individuality and independant thinking of this particular group. I think this is a good thing. If that qualifies me as a feak, then so be it.:Smarty:

    Gianna - hi!

There are more Buick fanatics than one might think on the internet.

The number of discussion forums started within the last couple years exemplifies that.

It's good to see another person my age join the hobby/love of Buicks!

    Check out these cool sites:

    www.buickstreet.com
    www.buickland.com
    www.buickperformance.com

These are just a few of the neat places on the web to check out the Buick scenes.

If having engine parts in various stages of decay, rebuild, and long term storage in my kitchen qualifies me as a 'freak' then I guess I can't do much about that...I was using an Q-jet as a doorstop for a while. I'm trying to find a cracked 455 block and damaged rods/pistons to make a coffee table that will never tip over. I once removed my engine to clean it. Not paint it, but clean it. I've removed and installed the same 455 six times in one day (just couldn't get that last bolt to line up). One very long day... I have removed my front clip to wire brush my headers. I have bought Buick parts that do not fit my car, knowing full well they do not fit, but I wanted to fix them. I have listened patiently to "professional experts" who have told me that Buick never made a 455, and also that my trunk lid was for a Chevelle (duh.) without throttling them on the spot. I have bought half of a Skylark. I have gone fast enough that my speedo got stuck below the right turn signal for most of a day (you Skylark guys know where that is  ) I have spat rubber from my rear tires all over the front of an occupied Police car...and met an unamused Policeman. I have out accelerated Police cars (a misunderstanding by both parties) I have driven a just married couple to their hotel after their wedding in my Buick. I'm hardly the most hard core Buick guy around here, too. If "Buick freak" means "someone who lives breathes eats and sleeps Buicks" then I'd nominate Brad Conley for that coveted title. He's the gentleman with the protoype GSX AND the prototype GNX, along with a host of other Buicks including another 1 of 1 GSX. Boy would I like to spend a day in Brad's shoes:TU:

Chris - A Buick 350 might be an easier score...not to mention - they are a deep skirted block, so it will sit a little higher...nice flat surface too!!:TU:

Man. Can you imagine having even the slightest interest in muscle cars and not know Buick made a 455? Unreal.

It's not my all time favorite Buick Brad, but that Skyhawk sure is clean! I'm beginning to think you don't own a Buick that needs work:grin:

    Chris,
The Skyhawk is a 20 footer...it's got some paint issues and minor rust to deal with. Fun little car to drive, though.

Well, if anyone's a Buick freak, it's my uncle, Donald Colomb. He's gotta '66 Skylark GS with a 425 Nailhead, it runs 11.91. Which is why he hasn't run it in a while, he didn't feel like putting a roll cage in it. But he knows about everything there is to know about Buicks. One day while i was at his house, we looked at this site, and every time a question would come up, he would answer it off the top of his head. He was even giving details on production line paintjobs for an old Buick. He has everything that has to do with the GSs stored in a folder. He has a bunch of old magazines with Buicks, and all of his drag strip records, and production info. He also has a pic on his wall of him coming off the starting line with his front tires off the ground.

Chris, I myself was thinking you somewhat a fanatic, :Do No:

Until I read this part!! Having done ALL FOUR of these PERSONALLY (including the part in parenthesis), I must humbly admit to being a Buick "freak" myself.:Brow: :Dou: :bglasses:

Hey! You described me to a "T". I have been known to have to be drugged, beaten and dragged away from Buicks that I really, really, really want (all of them that I see). Saw a '78 Skylark in a shopping center parking lot today and tried to figure a way that I could go into every store to find the owner to see if I could buy it. Never have been much on the '78 models, but it sure looked good today! It's a sickness, a good sickness! I think I like it. I think I like it a lot!!!!
