Hi everyone, My set of Buick Super Sport wheels were just finished by Curt McKim. They were originally 14x7 - Curt cut out the centers, welded and balanced them into new chrome rimshells (15x7 w/ 4.25 inch back space for the fronts, and 15x8 w/ 4.5 inch back space for the rears - my current 255x60x15 tires will be mounted on them). The centers were redone in Fire Red with a clear cloat to match my '72's exterior. Thought that I would post the pics of the process here for everyone to check out. I'm really looking forward to getting these on my Buick!
So if you don't mind me asking.........how much did it cost? I've been considering doing the same. Scott
Very cool! I like the matching body color for the wheels! :TU: Post pics when wheels and tires are mounted on the car. Scott
Here is Curt's phone number and email. I find it is easiest to contact Curt by phone over the weekend but you can try during the week as well: (515) 685-3397 curt.mckim162@gmail.com
The wheels look great. How rare are this type of wheel? What finish would have come on them from the factory? does anyone have any pics of original finish or on a car?
>>I don't know the exact number but they are quite difficult to find. This style wheel was only offered in 1971 and 1972 (and probably not all of the 1972 year as my dealer's book has a note written next to the wheel saying it was no longer available). From the factory, these super sport wheels came in a charcoal gray color with stainless trim rings. Here is a pic of the wheels in stock form.
The wheels look great Chris! Let me know if te deal falls through with Dennis, need an excuse for a road trip! Louie

My set of Buick super sport wheels arrives today from Curt. He shipped them via Fed Ex, provided tracking numbers, and did a great job packing them. The 15x8s were shipped in a box within a larger box, and the 15x7s were shipped in their own boxes as well in one large box. Here is a shot of one of my original 14x7 super sport wheels with one of the new 15x8s.
