Well, I literally got shivers up my spine when I came across this thread. Thank you to all who have replied to this thread. I'm 39 and enjoying life more than I thought I would be at this age. I have also managed to take holidays for the entire month of October (we get 4 weeks annual leave in Australia) so that I can be on holidays for my Birthday. I'm using it to work on my Buick as much as possible and the photos (http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?threadid=27327&goto=newpost) are just the beginning.

Sometime in the next fortnight I will receive the first of my really big presents. A fully massaged set of intake Nailhead Intakes (q-Jet and dual quad) prepared by none other than the illustrious Greg Gessler to "Shootout" specs. I suppose that the older you get the better the gifts become. I'm also pleased to be receiving regular updates (and assistance) from Tom Telesco regarding all things Nailhead and always centering around the topic of his fabulous Nailhead Full Roller Rocker arms.

I guess my point is that every Birthday is a good chance to take stock of one's life and stand back a little to view how they live and who are the people who are most prominent. Could it not be said that the quality of the company you keep is a measure of one's success? I'm not sure, but if it is then I am truly a fortunate individual as I consider all of you amongst my closest friends. Some of you I have met. Others I will meet in the future but this site brings us into a new realm of closeness. One of being able to help without any obvious means of payment. The feeling of helping others is often payment enough for many of you and that makes you all a step above the average schmo.

Last year I celebrated my Birthday at a massive truck stop somewhere between Bristol TN and Agawam MA with the finest group of people I have come across in a long time. A bunch of Buick racers headed by none other than Jack Cotton (9 second Orange Turbo Regal). Last year was a milestone for me with (as many of you might remember) my first trip to the US. It was because of this board (and especially Bob and Scott) that my trip was such a success and I'll never forget what a fantastic country you all (well most of you anyway) live in. I actually felt I was among 'cousins'. They (you) spared no expense in making me feel welcome and I'll never forget it. Not to mention it was my first drive (and race!) in a Fuel Injected Big Block Buick. Wow! What an experience that was. To top it off I also got to go for a ride on Jack Cottons Turbo Regal. I think you can imagine what that felt like.

Since my return down to Australia, this board has been a part of my daily life. I work in IT so I have a browser open somewhere my entire day that is always open to this site. I have been into the internet since January of 1998 and feel that this site epitomises all that is good about the internet. Actually I feel it represents the essence of what is good about the internet (Global and timely communication between poeple who have a common interest) and I'm really proud to be a part of it. I urge all those who have yet to make a donation to this board to do so at their earliest opportunity. If anyone feels the urge to buy me a little gift then please send a donation to this board.

Over the next few weeks I plan to work on my Electra (mostly engine bay) and on BuickStreet.com. These are some of my favourite things and I'm glad and thankfull that you are all here to share them with me. I will most certainly try to be in the US for the BPG Nats and I hope to stay with any of you that will have me.

Thank you for all your best wishes. You folks are simply the best! I'm proud to know you all!

    Thanks Ken and Paul.

I'll be taking another Nailhead shot soon and will try to get that radiator hose out of the way this time. Though it does provide a place for desktop icons.

Check out the T-Shirt design I'm 'playing' with. As soon as I'm finished with the design I'll take it to the Screen printer and get a quote for the production of them.
