The other day my Dad purchased a 455 big block motor. The motor had all the parts minus carburetor and only the pistons were on it. Now if anyone was at the Nats they may recall a big block regal that was there running nines. It was white and green if that helps. Now I don't want to have a 9 second street car for various reasons (gas,$) but I want to run a 10.5 which would make a good street/strip car. I need to know what parts I need to do this, where to find them and other things about them. So if anyone has some info on this then answer back.

    Thanks

Well, the first logical step is to contact TA performance and get a catalog. Then, get the credit card ready!:beer

Steve, my regal is green & white & was at the nats. but it doesn't run in the nines (yet) Ran 10:60's this year good e-nuf for a couple semis & one runner up finish. If its the car you're talking about let me know & we'll talk.

Yes it't the car I'm referring to but I recall you being in the nines with it. Anyways its an amazing machine and I hope I can get some pointers from you.

    Thanks

10.5 won't run on pump gas. I think the most you want to run is 10.1:1, I would run forged pistons(either the new wiesco's or the new Sealed Power), you will have to deck the block till your at 0.006-0.008(this should give you 10.1 with the sealed power piston, not sure on the wiesco, either check with them or TA).
Get a set of head well ported(or get the new TA heads there great), pick a cam(depends on heads, ask TA or Jim Weise). And let em rip....

I was looking at the Tri-Shield website and they offer a 625 horsepower pump gas engine. Below it shows all the parts I need to achieve the goal. With help from TA and Tri-Shield me and my Dad should be able to make it. My Dad built a 454 Chevy engine but this should be a challenge.
