If anyone is looking to get any bumpers rechromed and you're not in a hurry, I've been making regular runs to Sandy's, whose pricing is still very reasonable.
    • $900 for "street chrome" if it's a decent core that only needs some straightening/dents fixed
    • $1650 for "show chrome" but the core has to be pretty nice & only require minor straightening/dent removal/no welding.
That price includes transportation from BG & back next year. I can ship them back as well if you need sooner. I can do the same for the BCA Nationals in July in Strongsville, OH & bring to BG next year (idk where the BCA is next year). Doesn't need to be Buick either (price may be more/less depending upon year/make/model). Of course also can bring them to me (just south of Baltimore).

Sandy himself is 85 y/o & has been straightening bumpers for 60 years & can work wonders (& charges very reasonable price) if it needs more/excessive straightening/welding/holes filled/etc. Usually no more than an extra $75-150 depending upon how much is required.

I took a test piece ('70 front) that I thought was too far gone & it came out absolutely beautiful.

I'm also interested in buying cores. Let me know what you have.

What is the turnaround time on a front and rear bumper?

I'm not going up again until July 10th (their busy season too) & then about 14-16 weeks.

Is his son Tony still there? I haven't been there is a while and am only 15 minutes away.

Tony & Alex are still there & Sandy's wife still runs the office. Had the pleasure of sitting down w/Sandy last time I was there for about an hour & just shooting the breeze about all kinds of stuff. Talked to Tony for quite awhile the 1st time I was there last summer. Great fun but I was trying to get over to the Syracuse Nationals too!

    Hey Folks,

I have no affiliation with Sandy's as I use Chip @ Tri-City Plating. However My shop is 45 minutes from Strongsville & if I am not on the road transporting that weekend, I will definitely be at the show!

If you need to leave a core for someone to pickup or maybe I can even drop it off if I have a transport close.....I will be glad to help.

Call me or send me a P.M. anytime.

    God Bless
