I'm just wondering if a th 350, with the right side ear broken off where the inspection pan connects is worth rebuilding, i got it for free and want t orebuild it so its ready to go in when i take out my burned out trans.

Most of the time the ears get cut off the first time you need to remove the trans and have headers installed. Makes pulling the tranny down much easier as the ears make the trans too wide to fit between the headers. Aside from looks, I dont foresee any problems with a missing ear. Anyone else?

I would have liked an "earless" trans when I put my inspection cover back on. Words came out of my mouth that peeled the paint off the walls!

Thanks alot guys, I just hate t ogo to the trouble of building it and having a problem. It just seems to make more sense to build one out of the car while its off the road and then make a days swap out of the old/new transmissions.
    Thanks again.
