And here's a 1 hour and 22 minutes video of trucks entering the festival grounds.
99% COE's, but the first truck in the video happens to be a conventional Scania model
(well, in fact it's a modified COE)

I will be at the festival tomorrow.

Amazing that they both drive down the same narrow tunnel in opposite directions, instead of waiting at the beginning or the end until the tunnel is cleared.

Volvo film about the mining trucks:

    20 nov 2018

In a landmark agreement between Volvo Trucks and Norwegian mining company Brønnøy Kalk AS,
six autonomous Volvo FH trucks will transport limestone over a five-kilometre stretch in a mine.

Tests of this solution have been carried out successfully and will continue throughout 2018 to become fully operational by the end of 2019.
The deal represents Volvo Trucks’ first commercial autonomous transport solution that will run in a real operation.

It is a new solution whereby the customer buys a transport service where Volvo Trucks
takes full responsibility for the delivery of the limestone to the crusher.

The REAL Reason Why America Stopped Making Cab-over Trucks

In the vibrant era of the 1970s, American roads were decorated with an iconic sight of Cab-over trucks, also called Cab-over-Engine trucks (COE) trucks.
These unique trucks, with their flat-nose design, were an integral part of the trucking landscape.

Every major manufacturer, from Freightliner to Mack to GMC, produced these vehicles,
resulting in them being found all over the country's highways.
The story of cab-over trucks began before World War II, on the busy East Coast of the United States.

At that time, there were regulations limiting the maximum length of trucks, including both truck and trailer, to about 65 feet - 19.812 meters.
To maximize cargo capacity within these limitations, manufacturers devised an ingenious design - the cab-over-engine (COE) trucks.

This involved shortening the cab at the expense of driver comfort to save space for more cargo.
COE trucks, also known as Cab-over-Engine trucks, are a specific type of truck design in which the driver's cab is placed directly above the engine, rather than in front of it, as in most conventional trucks.

This means the driver sits closer to the windshield and the steering wheel is directly above the engine.

Esmeralda and her team decided to use a crane to put the Case excavator on the brand new Broshuis trailer, this to prevent scratching the fresh paint of the trailer.
(everything to keep the judges at the Truckstar Festival happy)

The new Scania COE Smart Dash dashboard:

New SCANIA INTERIOR with Smart Dash!
    This is next level cabin!

Scania interior with Scania Smart Dash was revealed!
Scania smart dash is a totally new truck dashboard.

The new Scania Smart Dash driver station always includes two displays:
the Driver Display in front of the driver and the Centre Information Display (a touch screen that is available in two sizes - 10.1" or 12.9" inches).

The driver can give input via the touch screen, by pushing buttons or by voice steering.
Scania has settled for a balanced mix between physical and digital controls, steering away from the common mistake of hiding vital functions one or two levels down in a menu.
