We took a TH 400 out of one of the 70 455 GS parts car and I would like to know what year it is and other info that can be provide about it.I know its not original to this car but,it could well be the correct for the 71 455 car we got in the deal. Here is all thats on the tag.

    BA-67-U 2690
There is also a number 244 above that and the big BA is scratced off the tag.
I also found what appears to be a large teal color BA(STAMPING) on the top of the tranny on the pass side under the grease.
    Any help????

1967 BA Trans. Came out of a 1967 GS400. A 1970 GS455 would also have a BA tag, but the tag would read 70-B-A. Look on the drivers side of the trans just above the pan flange, and ahead of the electrical detent connection. The VIN should be stamped there. Should match the VIN of the car you took the trans from, if it's original.

    Thanks Larry,
I kinda figured it to be a 67 since the 67 was on it.This whole deal is really funky. We also got a 67 Big port head 430 motor in this deal that was out of a 67 Riv GS that we sold the star wars air cleaner to Smartin. The guy that had these cars must have known his Buicks because we still have an original 71 rear spoiler, and it came with the NOS 71 grille we sold.It looks like there were a total of 4 GS cars that were mixed in these 2 we got.We have a 70 GS hood that was gold,a 71 455,and several non numbers matching stuff. All good stuff though. There is still alot of confusing stuff to look through.
