It's a Rochester Quad on a KB 430 headed 455. Motor is astounding and then all of a sudden it quits. Pump the gas pedal a few times, nothing. Think it's spark, but I checked. I got spark. Now pull the plugs and have someone crank it over. Gas blows out of most of the spark plug holes, most notably number 7. Pull the carb off, empty it, gob of gas, let it sit overnight upside down. I can hear the floats working by shaking the carb. Put it back on and all is good. What the heck? Stuck Niddle Vale, bad float. How could something like this "just go away". Now I'm a little shy of taking the car anyplace. Still have to change the oil too....it got real thin.
sounds like dirt got between the needle and seat, id pull the carb apart and clean it out and check to see how much stuff is in it. does it have a fuel filter installed? are the tank and lines original?
Thanks guys, I'll pull the carb again and spend a little time with it. But as of right now, it's working. Gas came out of a 5 gal container I was using and it was clean as it was new, gas tank and lines are original to the 65. There is a filter---I think---damn, gotta check that one...
