No replies from my post on the Bench.

I have a mild built 455 with a new B4B manifold. I will be using a 800 CFM Q-Jet. Which gasket should I used. I also need the hardware for the carb. Nuts and studs. Which ones should I use.

    Thanks.

If you have the hood clearance I'd run one of our .230" thick open gaskets. They help insulate the carb from the intake manifold.

The best hold down bolts are custom length studs cut from a peice or hardened all-thread, with nuts and washers.

Thiss will provide full thread depth in the aluminum intake, and the threads woln't be twisting in the aluminum when you snug down the nuts. We use and recomend studs for all aluminum intakes. You can also cut them to length for thick gaskets, spacers, etc...Cliff

I would mention that most of the plated allthread at hardware stores and such is NOT hardened. Fastenal and similiar companies have it, usually in stock. Stainless is fine as well, as it's harder that plain zinc plated stuff and it woln't rust....Cliff

    Cliff,

A .230" thick gasket would be just a tad less than a 1/4 inch? Do you know where I can purchase?

    Thanks
