`72 455 carb. Not sure of the M3, possibly a customer code.....Buick Motor Division??? 2231 is the 223rd day of 1971, so probably late July-early august. A very early 1972 model year carb.

    That's a nice carb to use on a 455. It is 800cfm.

Are you certain about the "M3"? The application code should be "MB" for all 1972 455 automatic transmission applications except Stage 1.

Could be. My new glasses are having trouble adjusting to my eyes. First time bifocals.

Did you get true bifocals, or progressive? I've been wearing glasses most of my life, but when I had to get bifocals, the doctor set me up with TRUE split line bifocals. They gave me headaches constantly, as my work at the time required using a display screen that was at roughly stand-up eye level. I even told the opthamologist(sp) about this BEFORE getting them. What a waste of money. Went to another doctor, and he got me set up right with progressive lenses. No more headaches.

If you haven't had them long, take them back and tell them you hate them and request a different pair. I did that. I've always had progressive lenses but that particular new pair had them too high, blurring my vision when looking straight ahead that required me to tilt my head down to see clear straight ahead. They were great if I wanted to drive down the road looking at billboards. When they told me they were supposed to be that way, I told them if I have an accident I was going to sue them for the defective lenses. They got me new lenses, no charge
