Looks like your missing a digit on the casting number. 7041**** would mean its a 1971 Buick carb. The four digits after the casting number is the date code. Im a little rusty on date codes but I think 0354 is the 35th day of 1974. If im right, that would mean its a service replacement carb made in 1974

He seems to be missing a digit on his carb number though. They're usually 7 digits not 6. Followed by the plant code then the date code. Im not sure what the numbers in parenthesis means

    For example- 7040246 LK 0150

Yup...service replacement carb. They don't follow the usual numbering convention, since they were made at a later date and have some modifications from the originals.....so they don't use the original pn.
I just bought a 7041305 on eBay. Looks like it has nailhead linkage, but a later style vacuum dampener for the secondaries. 1967 would be a good guess.
Anyone have a AC-Delco carb book???

    It is 7 digits.

    70 is Rochester

    41 is 1971

3 is what puzzles me. All of GM used either 2-49states 5-California Only

    0 is Chevy

    5 is manual

    I'm wondering if it's a 205 carb.. That's off a 454.

If anyone is missing digits it's me. We went to that GrandPrix New York last night. In the second race someone (JohnSR) hammered me into the wall. The wheel spun in my hand and I think I ripped the pinky muscle in my bad hand. :ball: Iced it all night.

1971 Delco catalog indicates 7041305 is the service carb for 1967 400 or 430 with AT (California only).

    OK guys,

so when i advertise to sell it should i say that it is a

    "replacement service carb" dated 11 15 79, 7041305 (11 15 79) 0354

for a Buick 455, and or a 1971 Chev Manual.

    Does that seem correct????

    Cheers

I would use Johns description EXACTLY. You can't be more accurate than that.....he Nailed it!

BTW, this 67 carb does have the same linkage and baseplate as the 66 Nailhead carb, so it fits nicely on a Nail too! However, the 67 carb doesn't use a hot-air choke like the '66.
