there's probably a thread 4 this but here goes any way. As u no i run a 455 in 78 camaro fun. Anyway the car sat 4 about 4yrs (no powertrain) , now i had scored a carb off a 76 s/w which i assume was a 800 . I'm running a 750 holley right now but wish to switch to the Q-jet,same car new 455, Only problem is i stored most of my spare parts out in the parts cars(had bad grass fire) and alot of stuff went poof.To make a long story short is there a serial # i can use 4 800 Q-jets cause there were a couple carbs i can salvage but can't remember if its the right carb or not.I have also run newer jets on my olds s/ws so this is where the confusion comes in cause olds & buick have the same hookup, any help greatly appreciated . I have heard--but not verified--that ALL the '75 and newer Q-jets were 800s if they had a front fuel inlet. Some of the '75-newer side inlet Q-jets were still 750s.

That seems "too good to be true"; as always the best policy is to LOOK IN THE PRIMARYS to see how big they are.

So far as I know, all the GM divisions used 800 Q-jets on at least some applications prior to '75, but Buick used 'em first.
