    tubecatgs Finally a 4 speed......

I have ordered 2 carpets in my lifetime for 70-72 Skylark that had 4 speeds with out console. The manual trans was added as well as the chevelle 1960 something hump to both.. problem is I always order the carpet for a manual trans and it seems there is always a bulge of carpet near the shifter... should I order a carpet for an automatic or now I see OPGI has a carpet for manual trans without console..

this car will be the same 4 speed without console but an original hump will be installed... what do you think is best fit?

I used the carpet for a column shift automatic and trimmed around the hump.

    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

Most Buick A-bodies use the "Auto" Carpet, because the "hump ring" for the shifter is contoured to the hump.
Chevys had a "platform" type hump that the "manual" carpet is contoured to fit.

This style hump I used in my '68. The manual console sits over it once the carpet is down and the lower boot and ring are installed.

Below the "hump" picture, is how mine looks, since I don't have a console.

At the bottom is a pic of the type of boot I just bought (but have not installed).
It was what was used in the Olds cars without consoles, and looks better to me.
(Saw this car at the Nats and decided I needed this style boot)
