    Hi everyone,
I have a 1966 Buick LeSabre with a 2 barrel on a 340 V8. I also have a parts car (just purchased last fall) that also has a 340 V8 but has a 4 barrel Carter AFB carburetor. I believe the compression on the latter is 10.25 while my motor is 9. Is it worth my while to make a carburetor swap? I figure the output would be better.

My other choice, besides leaving well enough alone, is to change engines as well.

    skitzofrenic66 What's an Import?

last summer my buddies wussy little 69 camaro had a 2bbl 350. i pulled that sucker off and we put on an edelbrock 4bbl intake and edelbrock carb. he noticed a huge difference in throttle response. *more gas in, hehe* i say, if you've got the other intake and carb lying around, go for it. dont expect to see the same MPG though!!

    Hey there Bryon,
Thanks for the answer. I kinda figured there would be more oomph at the throttle if I made the switch. It should be an easy change anyway since the block is the same. The intake manifold should have the same bolt pattern.

Nice to hear from the other end of the continent. Enjoy your wheels.
