I'm looking to restore the chrome-like sections of the center console out of a 72 GS. Anyone found a DIY method? Most consoles have significant pitting in this section, so would think sanding it down, filling any trouble areas, then top coat with a chrome-like paint. Lots of experimenting to be done. I'd be interested in hearing how others have approached this job.
Probably best to clean it best as possible and leave it. Otherwise find another or have it rechromed.
