I have Autometer gauges installed in my car. I had a mechanical 0-100 fuel pressure gauge with an isolator kit. Between the time that I purchased the gauge and isolator in 2010 and 2016 when I actually drove the car for the first time, the isolator failed, even though I never filled the hose until 2016. I called Autometer and was told that the isolators are only good for 2-3 years whether they were used or not. I decided to just use a electric gauge. Autometer does not make a Traditional Chrome 0-100 fuel pressure gauge so I picked one that looked close, a GS Series 3863. It looks fine when the lights are off, but it lights up green. IIRC, they didn't have many choices in 2016. It appears that all or most Autometer gauges use led's and they now have white led's. I have a hard time spending $250 just to get a gauge that lights up white because I don't drive my car at night very often, but it looks terrible IMG_0002 (1).JPG . Is it possible to change out the led? I did put led's in the rest of my dash and am happy with the results.

All the Autometer gauges I have use an easily removable plug with a 194 type bulb. I have changed all my dash lights and Autometer gauges to white LED.

That's how the rest of my AM gauges are. I even thought about just removing the wire from the connector and trying to install a 194 socket and bulb, but that's not possible the way that this gauge is set up.

Well that's the question then, is the bulb even accessible? If it is, then you can change it. You can get any kind of LED bulb you need, that isn't a problem.

The bulb would only be accessible after disassembling the gauge. It's all printed circuit and it's not screwed together. If I touch it with a soldering gun, I may as well just buy a new gauge! I was just wondering if I could take it to a electronics repair shop and have it done and if it would be a lot cheaper than the price of a new gauge. Who knows, maybe I'll attempt it myself, but the replacement gauge that that I would use says that it won't be shipped until sometime in January.:(

I was looking at the 3363, 3663 and 3671 on Amazon, but they show 1/8 npt sending unit. All of these at Summit show electrical sending unit, but even the 3363 at Summit shows electrical sending unit in description, but says that it needs a restrictor for diesel applications which leads me to believe that it's mechanical. This parts supply issue is really getting bad. Doesn't anybody know anything about their parts? Are Autometer gauges now made in China? I think that I'll just leave well enough alone and put up with a green display! I just looked at the Autometer gauges at Summit and it no longer says USA on the gauges like all of mine do. One more company down the drain.

What's the issue with a 1/8 npt sending unit? That is what mine is.

My mistake! I had a senior moment and was thinking 1/8 pipe means a mechanical gauge:oops:
