You know, as a car entheusiast we can maintain, modify, and keep our vehicles in top condition.....BUT!!!! There is the whole trailer thing..we all have them, well most of us, and how much quality time do you spend on your faithfull trailer???? Probably not enough.

Yup, load the car haul it down the road, lights work, brakes work...repack the bearings BUT BEWARE!!!

    U - BOLTS!!!!

Those tiny little pieces of metal,,,that basically keep your prize possession safe, when rolling down the e-way at 75mph.

I want you all to get under your trailers and inspect these yearly....i have found out that ..at least in my case....the nuts will "spall","fracture", "delaminate"..what ever you want to call it, leaving very little left holding them to the spring plates, and once they go......your axle will follow.

One big bump....or turn.....and you wont know what just happened.....

Luckily this did not happen, because i caught it JUST in time. On a 4 year old trailer no less.

I felt the need to share this, because the trailer can be ignored...

BE CAREFULL, AND BE VIGILANT ABOUT TRAILER MAINTAINENCE!!

After all you treat your cars that good dont ya?

I fell better now, thank you and have a good day!!

Check your spring shackle bolts and plates also. I just changed them on our trailer and they were worn half way through. Hard to fix on the side of the highway.
Check the whole trailer for that matter for it is very good advice.
