Has anyone tried this backhalf kit before? Do you think it will hold up to a Buick's torque? Competition Series 4-Link Rear Frame Package $795.00 Our Competitions Series 4-Link Rear Frames are great for Pro Street or E.T. drag cars. They come completely jig welded with 4-Link mounts and upper shock cross member fully installed. For an exact fit we leave the front cross member and the rear of the frame long to allow for trimming to fit your needs. The built-in rear drive shaft safety loop has a 3 drop center. The upper section is left unwelded to allow for trimming to the necessary height to fit your application. Our standard frame width is 24 center to center, but custom sizes are no problem and no extra cost. The package comes with our economy coil over which contains non-adjustable shocks, QA1 springs (with a rate to fit your application) and adjustable lower shock mounts (5 of adjustment). Adjustable and non-adjustable QA1 shocks are available for the competitor that wants a race shock. Our back halfs are available with 9 Ford rear axle housings. Each axle housing is jig welded to assure straightness and come with big bearing ends. Our standard housing width is 40 (45 +/- track width) but again custom widths are no problem and no extra cost. I have the similar s&w backhalf kit in my 70 gs they are rated up to 750hp without adding extra bars never had a problem
Yes I will be doing it myself and I am close to buying it. It says standard width is 24". I want the rails as wide as possible but still get a 15" slick on it when the time comes. The way I measured roughly across the top of the trunk was 69 total, between starting of 1/4 flare, 15" slicks = 30+ 1" clearance on each side of the slick 4" = 34 69-34=35" They say their measurement is center of frame rail so 3x2" looks like -2 more inches which would be 33" If some one here has done it how does that measurement add up to yours? Remember this is across the top of the car. The way I get 10.5 slicks to hook up I just don't know if I will ever need that big of a slick.
This is extremely decent and nice post.....You shook posting it.....Thanks a great deal for posting it.....!!!
