So I might be buying a 65 located in chicago somewhere. Not sure. I'm supposed to get some pics in the next day or two. Real nice guy I meet through the site. Again i'll keep saying it BUICK people RULE!!! Anyways the car has no engine or trans. What should I do?... POD, Hauler, Go there myself and get a U-Haul for a 700 mile run?? Any input would be awsome.:beers2:
I picked up a rear clip in arizona and pulled it back to chicago last summer. I figured that the 400 bucks it cost for a one way uhaul trailer was better than pulling an empty trailer all the way to az. I recently made a 700 mile round trip pickin up a car for a friend and empty trailer was not a big deal. 700 one way, I would look at the u haul unless you have your own trailer.
I think Penske also has car haulers for rent, they just don't seem to have the mass exposure that U-Haul has though. I used a U-Haul to haul my car 1650 miles from north eastern MD a few years ago. What are you using as the tow vehicle??
Look at it as an adventure. Road trips kick :moonu: I live in Michigan and me and the wife went to the Goodmark Instal center and then Canada for paint. It was one big happy roadtrip:beers2: Passports,Diesel,Open Road:TU:
Well I wasn't really planning on taking the trip myself, but if I have to I probably would have my buddy take me in his 92 Chebby 1500 2 dr full size blazer. Restored like 3-4 ysr ago. Truck is like brand new. He wanted to buy a new one but those ediots at Chevy stopped making a full size 2 dr trucks in 98? Anyways he is my bud that 15 yrs ago brought me to Mass. where I got my 65. I'll never forget that run with all passerbys giving the thumbs up. But still not sure.:TU:
I did a quick check on U-Haul's website, >Here< and it looks like your buddy's Blazer is acceptable for towing, as long as it has a Class III or better hitch.:TU: Yup, it's sure nice when passersbys recognize a nice car.:beer
