Choke pulloff with bleed hole & secondary air valve question.

Finally got my hands on a nice 800 cfm core. I'm making some final adjustments after a rebuild. I've got a question about the primary choke pull-off and how to adjust it in this particular application. Besides just getting the choke to work correctly, I'm trying to get the secondaries to work really smoothly.

Seems that this choke pull off has a bleed hole. Now generally, I set the orifice size in the choke pull-off so that it is fully extended 2 seconds after releasing the vacuum. Since this one has a bleed hole, I can't really do it that way. What do you do in this case? Do you get a choke pull-off without a bleed hole, even though it's incorrect for this application? My goal is to have a really smooth transition into the secondaries.

    Best Regards,

I don't think any of my 71-72 Buick 455 carbs have the external bleed holes and they would be the most performance oriented so maybe get one without.

    copperheadgs1,

That's about what I figured. About the worst that could happen is that a pre-1975 choke pull-off would pull the choke off a little early.

    Thanks!
