  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration. This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy..   3. The "Group Buy" for the 1967-68 Deluxe Steering wheel recasting is now officially "Open". Now is the time to start sending in the wheels. The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. If you send in more than one wheel, each additional wheel will cost $700. Shipping and insurance to Kochs and return shipping will be extra. Cigarette Lighter Blows Fuses

    Anytime I push in the Cigarette Lighter it blows the fuse, anyone know of possible reasons?

    have you hooked any "extra" accessories to the "clk ltr" circuit?
    if so, maybe you are taxing the circuit near capacity before you ever engage the lighter.

    OR

    use a flashlight and make sure there isnt some little piece of funk in the hole ....blow some compressed air in it to make sure.

    OR

    is it the correct lighter for the receptacle?

    AND

    has it worked well in the past?

    OR

    sometimes, those metal "tangs" inside the receptacle can get bent (from plugging something into the lighter receptacle) making the lighter short out the next time it is used.
    take the lighter from another car and try it. see if it also blows the fuse. try your lighter in the other car also. see if the problem stays with your car or moves with your lighter. if the other cars lighter dont blow your fuse, then you may have a bad lighter. if it does blow a fuse you may have a tweaked receptacle.

    ALSO

    use only th correct rated fuse every time you replace the fuse.

    Have you tried measuring the restistance across the element?
