(Probably the wiring.) Fuel sending unit needs to be replaced (for gas gauge to work. I refuel every 200 miles. It takes 12-13 gallons each fill up. Tank is 17 gallons). -Rebuilt Engine at approx. odometer 30,000 (Summer, 2004). It is a 300 cubic-inch (4.9 Liter) engine.
