C'mon Cubbies! Shake it off!

Let's pull it together Cubbies! That 8th inning last night was a train wreck. You won't see that often in a game, especially a Championship game.

But you have to shake it off. A loss like that can be demoralizing, so you have to dig down deep and get plum dog mad. Come out fighting!

    Good luck tonight.

Amazing how the action of a fan which has been done millions of times before wordlwide could change the complexion of the game.

What should have been two outs man on second was transformed into one out with men on first and second.

Fan didn't lose it for Cubbies though. They just didn't have enough runs at games end.

Makes for an interesting game 7.

I think they are going to choke!

I can see old "Corky":ball: :ball: :ball:

I'd had more respect for him if he only would have admitted it, now, forgettaboutit!

And I have to admit, I started cheering for Wisconsin after the IDIOT player from Ohio State was caught on tape! :Dou: But at least the coach suspended the player a game and made him come clean.

It seems the ball players can only remember "win at all cost", instead of "win at all cost WITHIN the rules". At least golf still has HONOR left!:Smarty:

This year was going to be great to watch. Cubs and Red Sox. One teams years of pain would come to an end, finally. Now, it looks like the %#@$&^$ Yankees and the who gives a crap Marlins. I will not watch if that is the case. And that poor kid that tried to catch that ball will probably get death threats from the idiots that take sports WAY too seriously. He didn't reach over the rail, he just tried to catch a ball that came down to him.

Regardless of how the world perceives it, I wouldn't wanna be that poor kid who tried to snag the foul ball. He'll remember that moment forever and will probably blame himself for the loss. I'd be he took some severe dissin' before he got out of the stadium last night. Hope he shakes it off.

Remember the Red Sox loss was in game 6 when the dribbler went through the 1st baseman's legs in '86 was it? against the Padres. They never recovered and lost game 7, too. Hope it works out better for the Cubs.

What could be finer than the Red Sox winning two in Y-stadium to get to the World Series? Odds are slim to none but we can dream.

Like New York/Atlanta, I'll have no reason to watch if it's NY/FLA.
I don't dislike FLA but couldn't care less about them.

GO CUBS! GO SOX! Then I'll probably hoot'n-toot for the Cubs.

    How 'bout them Chiefs!?

We got this as an email today. Yes we are ticked off :af: but there is always tonight.
No matter what happens the Cubs have had a great year.

    GO CUBS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps The guy had to leave under police & Cubs security protection, plus they gave him a different jacket to wear so he could be "disguised".

Watching that 8th inning last night gave me the same queasy feeling I imagine you'd get watching someone getting mugged and not being able to help. It was the worst thing I have ever seen in a baseball game.
I sure hope the Cubbies bounce back tonight. The Marlins and Yankees in the world series is an abomination to the sport. The whole country wants the BoSox and Cubbies to go to the big show.

I'm pulling for the marlins. The Cub fans I've had the displeasure of meeting are obnoxious when they travel to cincy. Even if the fish lose they'll have kept the Cub pitchers from getting any extra rest.

  10. The replay I saw, it looked like the ball was clearly on the playing field side of the wall. Maybe only a foot or less, but NOT in the stands. I think the umps blew it by not calling fan interference and the batter out. That fan may or may not have cost the Cubs that game. Who can say that with 2 outs the Marlins wouldn't have scored 10 more runs? :Do No: No one knows.

I'll bet if he had time to think about such a situation, he would not have reached out for the ball. From his side of the situation, it's a natural reaction to catch something thrown/hit at you. It was an unfortunate incident, but I firmly believe the umps made the wrong call.

    David,

I COMPLETELY agree with you. If you watch the replay, the guy is sitting front row, is against the wall, and STILL HAS to reach for the ball. Not much, but even if the guys only 5'10" his arms had to have reach a couple feet OVER the wall. There is NO question in my mind that the umps blew the call.

As far as the series goes...........I really hate to see the Yanks go again......but I can't wait to hear all the "curse" stories start fyling around again, LMAO................

OH YEA BABY.................UNDEFEATED !!!!! . Granted we dodged a bullet with the "Pack", and yea they will lose sometime this year, BUT. If the defense would just continue to show up to PLAY (!!!) The offense "can" score, and special teams are still on a roll. Looking good to me............AND I live in a sea of Denver fans that still remember and brag about John NOWAY. I watched him "SHOVE" a little kid outa the way that wanted an autograph once years ago. AN adult maybe, but this kid couldn't have been 7 years old. Haven't liked him since and will never like him. don't care if her cures cancer, he's still a ................well................Jerk !!!

I heard at work today the Chicago Sun Times printed the poor guy's name, home address, and workplace in a front-page article.

Anyone know if there's truth to that??

If so, I hope they're charged as an accomplice when some deranged fan kills the guy!!!

They may as well have. They gave his place of employment and listed his neighbors full name. How hard is it to do a google search.

I'm thinking that if the Cubs do lose he'll have a few job offers in a nice warm state :TU: .

With two close calls where a fan got in the way. I wonder if there will be rule changes. Baseball is the only sport where fans can interupt the play of the game. Every other sport keeps you way back.

I wonder if they wont come up with a mini fence that keeps the first two rows from reaching ito the game arae but doesn't block to much view.

Money on it, me? No way...

Never was a gambler... When your leader displays a lack of confidence, I beleive it spreads to the rest of the players. I don't think the players really believed (deep down), that they would make it to the world series.:Smarty:

Ol Corky needs a little rest, so he can get back to his old form, to build his confidence back. Besides Cubbies, there is always next year!

Jack M. (at 72) deserves to go (not to mention he wasn't good enough to coach the last place Reds)!:Dou:
