Column to floor shift conversion - Stuck please help

I'm converting my 70 Lark over from a column to a floor console shift car. I ordered a new pin, trunion block , selector lever, shifter cable, trans cable support bracket, and cable clips from TPPI. The trunion block however will not fit into the selector lever and I keep seeing pictures of a different selector lever with a round trunion hole. TPPI makes theirs with a square hole. I'm seeing conflicting diagrams in my service manual.

Can someone please send me a good pic or write-up on doing the floor shift conversion with a 350/TH350 combo? Pictures are needed too. I'm getting frustrated to the point of putting a B&M in it!

    Please help!:Dou:

    Thanks

    Gary

I don't have any pic because I'm not sure where your problem is. Can you post a pic of what isn't working?

At the heart of it, you have the bracket that goes on the transmission shifter shaft, a cable bracket that goes on the pan, a cable, a shifter that has the cable bracket all in one.

Selector lever should have a rectangular hole to fit over the shift arm from the transmission & a round hole the trunion mounts thru. You may have been sent the wrong part.

The selector lever I was sent had a rectangular hole for the shift shaft and a square hole for the trunion. I called TPPI back a few months ago when I originally ordered it and the man I spoke to went and checked the shelf and said that's how they all were made. I found one on EBay that looked correct. It's just like the one in the link above from Mrbuick.com. I also believe I was sent the wrong cable bracket from TPPI. I can't remember who took my order that day but I think I was sent the parts for a TH400.

Same answer I received when I bought their reproduction turn signal lever. "That's how they're all made & you are the first customer with a complaint".
Signal lever was rather nice but about 2" longer than my original. Put it into the pile & bought a NOS piece from a member here.
Hit & miss with TPPI for me.
    Floor shift cable was great.

List an ad in "Parts Wanted" & specify 350/TH350 or 455/TH400 as they differ.
Best place to start is the link Larry posted above. My bet is he can help you with the correct part.

I guess what I was asking is if someone could take a few pics of this selector, trunion, and bracket on their TH350 with a console shift? I'm almost positive now that I was sent TH400 parts.

This is where you should be getting your parts. Which one of your parts doesn't look like the ones in the pictures? I've bought the shifter handle parts from him and they are all top notch items. You will not be disappointed at twice the price.

The 73-76 shifter has a square hole for the trunion while the 70-72 version has the round hole. Believe it's a round hole for either 350 or 400 trans..
Send me your e-mail & I'll scan the two drawings.
Haven't sorted out Windows 8 enough yet to repost the scan here.
The cable bracket on the trans. pan will differ from TH350-400.

This last one I believe is for a TH400 442 Oldsmobile console auto shifter.

Now everyone can have this information incase TPPI sends them the wrong stuff too.

Thanks to everyone for pitching in and helping me resolve this dilemma!!
