I'm passing this along from a note from Bob Palma: This week was the 50TH anniversary of the closing of the the Stude Facilities in South Bend, In. There is still one building that remains standing there today and a really excellent Museum in SB.
There will be a gathering/ Lecture series in Jan 14 there. could be interesting.

Two of my friends/ classmates at UM had to leave school when their Dads lost their jobs at Stude. They held on through the Spring of 1964, but out of state tuition was too much...sad...

What's really sad is I can't even remember their names now...:idea2:Think that bulb burned out...

That was a great article and was nice to see the differences in the different Studebaker engines. They thought outside the box ,and then pressurized one to make power.

Hats off to the Stude Dudes... :TU:

    Thanks so much, guys.

There has been a lot of mis-information published about Studebaker's R-series engines through the years, but Tom Shaw got it right in the January 2014 Muscle Car Review.

We worked extensively with him, at his request, to be sure it was on the money.

    'Glad you enjoyed it. :TU:

Congrats to both Ted and George for the cars, info and keeping the Stude name alive. Where else would the average guy ever get to see those two very rare and neat cars.

Great write up for George and Ted, congrats.

I enjoyed my match up race with George last year in his plain brown wrapper, car is a super strong runner.
