I'm restoring my 70 Skylark convertible and want to know where you would get the piece of vinyl that covers the metal on top of the windshield . Mine had a few bubbles which led to the fabricator splicing in a few small pieces off a chevelle. Thanks Glenn. Also is that just glued on like a vinyl top.

Make darn sure the "bubbles" were/are just trapped air. Once you remove the old vinyl, carefully inspect the metal header for rust. If present, you will need to remove the rust, paint and reinstall the vinyl.

Mine is kind of funky too. You can get that taken care of at any upolstry (sp?) shop.

Thanks for the responses. Mine just had a little rust under the bubbles and the fabricator actually spliced in a small piece off a 68/69 chevelle. It was in such good shape he didn't have to remove the windshield.

Sorry I mean he cut a small section of the metal out and replaced with a piece off a donor Chevelle(I knew Chevys were good for something LOL). He then sanded and primed the whole piece.
