Any of the GM racers here know the correct speedometer gears for a muncie in a car with 4.30 gears? What about 4.10 gears also. Thanks

Not trying to be the fastest, but I do need to get better. lol

Rusty got me some tires so that should help.

I think you're gonna be looking for an external gear reduction gearset that attaches to the speedo gear output, to go along with the proper gears on the inside of the tailhousing. Look in the suitable GM parts catalog under group number 4.329. Part is called ADAPTER. Different ones were used in different combinations depending on: body style, transmission, tire size, and rear axle ratio.

Just took mine out, the biggest gear was for a 4.10 and is 25 tooth natural color, you would need the adaptor for the 4.33

Thanks for the help. I have found a "Gear Ratio Calculator" at the "Tri-5 Chevy" web site that seems to have all the answers, but I don't know for sure how accurate it is, but I would hope from looking at it and playing around with the numbers, that it would at least be close. This way I know what drive gear to put in as the trans is getting re-built. Thanks again for the help
