Ok, now here's a good one.

On my '69 Skylark 350-2... I have no PCV valve, etc. All I have is a Breather Tube running from the passenger side valve cover, to the air cleaner.

The problem is, my breather tube is falling apart, and I need a new one. YearOne lists one for the 350-4, and it going from the drivers side valve cover.

Anyone have a clue as to where I could get a new breather tube?

I did a little engineering on my car...

On my LeSabre AND Centurion, they both fell apart on the same day:Dou:

I tried using normal heater hose, but that didn't work at all.

Check this thread out to see what I did!

It's not "stock" but it looks good. I had a guy tell me he wanted $45 for a hose. It's new, but my cars aren't concours restos either. This works fine.

It's basically a preformed 3/4" hose that I found in Auto Zone when the lady let me go behind the counter to look.

I'll snap some shots of it on my car herre in a minute to show you how it looks!

pardon the orange intake...the previous owner painted the motor in a blind fury thinking that making it a chevy color would make it faster...let alone look better:gt:

Just curious - what happened to the PCV valve?
You really should have one. It is good for the engine to have positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) to keep your oil cleaner and engine running better. Heck, race guys are now using electric and mechanical vacuum pumps to keep a strong vacuum in the crankcase. Why? Better ring seal and more Power! :)

On a 2bbl, the PCV valve is in the intake behind the carb...just like the 4bbl...but the 2bbl has a different hookup to the carb. It connects to the back of the carb at the vacuum tree instead of running to the front of the carb.

Ok... I do have a PCV valve, just went out there and found it. It was hidden back there. :) The valve looked pretty old, and dull colored, so I think I'll go buy another one.

I looked at the thread in regard to the breather tube, how do I get it to fit into the valve cover? Mine is the old molded one, with the grommet-like fitting. E.g. it's a single piece and, the grommet part is the one falling apart.

    ah.

then you need to take it into Auto Zone or Napa or whoever and match it up to one of their grommets.

THe HELP section at Auto Zone has these on the shelf....very cheap. The parts store guys will know what you need:TU:

    Thanks for the offer! :)

But, I'll just pick up a new one, or something. Besides, I had already planned on going to the auto parts store.

No "auto parts store" carries a correct breather tube. They DO have the breather and the grommet for the valve cover though.

I might just buy a breather and grommet. Or fix my breather tube.
