    Hey,

Heared that some guys use the main rear seal from Ford 429/460. So I will order the engine tech S3502 (they said it is Viton material) I know that the BOP seals exists but price is heavy with shipping and taxes.
Or is a other manufacturer recommend?

For front cover does the Timken 710163 will fit without any modification on stock front cover?

    Have a nice day

If you have never used a two piece rear seal before just note that each half must be off set from the main cap parting line for a 100% leak proof set up.

Also the serrations where the original rope seal was riding needs to be polished out near completely, so the Crank can not be in the motor.

    Just an FYI..

The only seal I will use these days is the BOP dual lip one piece. The Buick 455 rope Seal grooves are too inaccurate for long term success with split seals of any type or brand.

I have been doing this for a couple years now, and have enough now in service wtih 100% success rate, that I thought I would mention it.

I didn't know they made a one piece. How long have they done that?

    Jim,

Is the BOP seal difficult to install? Install instructions will not load for me from their site.

    Thanks, Matt

I converted their written instructions from MSWord to PDF, attached. You should be able to read & print it from Adobe Acrobat.

Thank you, Devon. That's the info I was hoping to see. It seems like a nice seal - I have had good success with the two part seal, but, one less seam should be better + the parting line is in a better place , too

Good to know. Saw this option on a Ford engine site.

I couldn't find a one piece seal except the "kaeses one piece seal" Ford Ford engines.

Nobody use the Timken 710163 on front? Rockauto says it will fit.

Why did he spread the seal and go around the crank flange?
I would have gone ahead of the flange right to the journal, that way he wouldn't have had to spread the seal so wide to get it past the crank flangeo_O

That's a great idea and seal. I learned a lot just from the video, as I could not grasp how a 1 piece seal would work. Thanks for posting it!
