I installed a 200R4 in my '64 convertible and went with a Bowtie Overdrive crossmember. The crossmember lines up perfectly with the original frame pad and trans mount but it will not fit on top of the frame pad, only underneath, so the only support is the bolts holding the crossmember to the frame. If I use some grade 8 bolts will this be adequate support, or do I need to break out the hammer and get that crossmember on top of the frame pads?
