Have a full size buick that the cruise was inop. Haven't messed with this in along time. So I diagnosed it and came up with a bad transducer. Well I had a used one in my parts stash and now it sets and for a few seconds it holds speed but then it just starts climbing. It does cancel when brakes applied. Any ideas? Can the transducer be adjusted. You can't find a new or reman anywhere.

There was a way to " Adjust " the speed by turning the fitting that the vacuum line goes to . But this was to compensate for if you say engaged it at 60 mph and it went up to 65 mph . Or you engaged it at 60 and it dropped to 55 mph . how high does it climb and what year are we talking about ??

Shop manual does show the adjustment procedure . Don't know if it will work in your case or not Dan . Another thing is not all transducers are the same .

I tried using that adjustment but now it will set but doesn't keep speed. I adjusted it all over. For about a hour of trial and error. My old one doesn't have a code to match it up. I bet thats my problem. I took my original apart, found a wire off the switch. Got it to click when appling the switch. But still doesn't do anything.

Ok just a update.. it works!!
After trying to adjust it to no help,I took the old one apart and my used one and swapped the cable end. With it connected I could see the switches working like they should. Cheap fix but I'll take it.. Lol
