Hi all, I'm thinking about painting my engine. There are multiple topics about this, but I couldn't find the answer for my question.
I've bought VHT aluminum color for the intake manifold and VHT flameproof iron color for the exhaust manifold and regarding temperature that will/should be fine.
But my question is regarding the cylinder heads and then specifically the exhaust ports. I want to paint those red with standard 2k car paint. But I'm not sure if that will hold, does anyone have experience with that? If not, would normal VHT paint suffice or would I be needing flameproof?

I painted the heads on my 350 engine Duplicolor Engine Enamel 1653 red. Works well for me.

That hi-heat duplicolor does hold up remarkable well. Make sure all oils are burned off the head (propane torch) before your paint.
