    my daily

my 68 special deluxe, daily driver...

runs good, even though the engine needs a tuneup...gas mileage around 8-10mpg, could be better after tuneup...

my only complaint is that after 35 years, some of the older parts are starting to give up, and this creates headaches when i don't have a car to drive while mine's being worked on...plus, i can't emabark on any major projects that would take more than a weekend to complete...

I've driven my 70 Skylark daily with a 70 mile commute for years. I drive it year round, except for when it gets really salty(that's what the Caprice is for). It's no show car, but is very solid. I bought it out of a junkyard many years ago, and have put 82,000 miles on it so far. It's now just about ready to turn 200,000. I keep the bottom side of the body and the inside of the quarters coated with used oil, so rust hasn't been a problem.

    Hmm....
Sounds like the Hornet I used to have...
That things will never rust again!
    (leaky rear main seal)
The floors, exhaust, rearend, etc... EVERYTHING was "rustproofed" even more everytime I drove it.

Yeah, oil is great at rustproofing. It makes the car sort of frustrating to work under though. Good thing it's a Buick, I hardly ever have to do anything to it, other than general maintenance.

From early march to late may of this year my 65 was my daily driver. The engine in my honda accord died and my 85 el camino was in the middle of a full restoration. As long as it wasnt raining, the 'lark was what i drove. when it rained I borrowed a car from dad. I plan to add a 200 4r and return it to daily driver status in march or april of next year. I'll keep that up until it starts to get cold, then back to the 81 el camino.

My 225 is my daily driver. Drove it last 2.5 years of college, and now pretty much everyday back and forth to work. I put about 10,000 miles a year on it. It sees sun, rain, sleet, ice, slush, snow, blizzards, you name it. With snow tires on all four corners and no posi (at the moment), it handles real well on snow covered roads.
