https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dak-vhx70bskykw Hi, I was wondering if anyone had used this replacement dash and if so would the wood inserts fit the same. I started to replace just the bezel when I saw this and thinking the advantages of starting with new guages and having fuel, water temp and oil pressure would be a big plus. Thoughts?
I would prefer them to be round instead of squared off. It is a simple silk screening change but I doubt they'd be willing to do it.
I used Dakota Digital Gauges in a custom panel for the Electra. If you get them take your time doing the wiring and use good connectors. You only want to do it once Gauges work fine. Only thing I would do different would be to get white on black. I got blue because, well the Electra is a lot of blue! Hut old eyes and blue lights don't mix and they are hard to read in some situations. Bob
I may not be 100% correct here but going by memory it reminds me of a generic dash out of a lot of late 80s chevys. S10, Astro, Celebrity....
I have one of these. It actually looks better in use than it does in the pictures, since the needles light up in red. I'm very happy with mine.
I have put in a couple of the all digital ones in resto-mods... I like the clean, simple, uncluttered look. And they look great in a nice dash bezel, not the piece of junk they had for mock-up. JW
