Looks like the ground wire for the wiper switch. It attaches to one of the wiper mounting screws near the headlight sw.

Frank, I believe the ground for the wiper switch is a plug in type.......... The type he shows is actually two pieces. The loop is for a screw. It is a ground wire but I am not sure what it grounds. But anyway It looks like the one that attaches with a tapping screw to the steering column support on the left side.

I have 2 brass/copper color nuts with built in washers. Where do these go?

Yup...good eye Dave. Ok...I'll take a stab at these. If they are big nuts, they may be for the steering column support brkt.

Or if they're small, like 1/4-20, they're the nuts for the dash pad studs

Anyone know what type and size screws hold bottom of bezel on? There are 2 in very bottom that angle up, and 2 that go straight in and get covered by the plate that goes under steering column. Also, what holds steering column cover plate on?

We should have a contest like that. Show a picture of a factory bolt and guess where it goes.

The screws that go in the bottom of the cluster are #8 Phillips head screws with a countersunk head. Not too tight! just snug. The cluster start to distort over time when the screws are too tight

4 screws on the cover plate- the top ones are countersunk Phillips head sheetmetal screws. The ones I have on the bottom of mine are flanged Phillips head screws. All 4 are black phosphate

These are the ones that go in the bottom of the column cover-

Does that site have the other screws I need?

#8 with counter sunk head? Do you have a picture of what that looks like? Those holes in bezel dont have a lip or anything to hold a screw. Just seems like anything will just slide through.

Looks like they have a bunch. I just googled the screw to get a picture of it for you. I never dealt with them. Most of the guys on the board use AMK. They have a much better site also

The best approach to find the correct screws, is to use the assembly manual. The manual has all the exploded diagrams and the GM part number of each screw. You can then Google the number.

The screws that go in the outer bottom locations of the cluster are #9419662. The ones closest to the column that get covered by the column cover are #9420554. The column cover screws are #9419662 and #9427711

I think they're called "oval" head. If you like I can take a couple pictures of the dash on my convertible for you. A picture is worth a thousand words

Do you have a picture of where exactly. I couldn't figure it out last night.

I built this car ground up, and this stupid dash bezel seems to be the most difficult part of my build

Striking out with these GM part numbers. Does anyone know the sizes of these screws?

    Thank you.

Did you check the AMK catalog. Look at the GM part number index for the numbers Jason listed.
