    I'll assume this is the cowl?

    43437 - Buick (4) GS (34) 2 door coupe (37)
    FL1 - Flint MI Fisher body plant
    209267 - Fisher body # - no relation to VIN

    TR 16s (should be 165) - Trim code - Pearl white bucket seats
    26a - Stratomist Blue (26) with white vinyl top (A)
    06A - Body final assembly 1st week (A) June (06) 1971

    thanks marco it's kind of exciting because it's had a black top when i bought it.your right it is a cool combo and definetly going back that way.

    Hello Marco!

    Could you help me out and decode my '67 GS400 body tag as well please? :grin:

    I've been trying to decode it myself but am having very little luck. :Do No:

    67-44617 KAN 1157
    196-B K-C

    W0 2ZG 5Y

    This thread will help you decode your options. I am not very good at this, but will give it a shot.

    01A - First week of January 68 build date?
    3605 ??
    67-44617 KAN 1157 - 67 GS 400 Hardtop built in Kansas City
    196-B Deluxe Aqua bucket seat interior

    K-C The K is for aquamarine, not sure about the C? It says it has two tone paint, maybe a white top?

    W - Soft-ray tinted glass (windshield only)
    0 - two-tone Paint (Chrome separator strip)
    2Z - 3-spd auto transmission turbo 400 transmission
    G Console
    5Y Deluxe front seat belts
