Has anyone here purchased this paint for their car?
This was my original color, but I painted the car 1994 GM Green Metallic back in 03. Now I may want to return the original paint scheme to the Sky;lark...
Also, would there be available a base/clear coat, or simply a single stage urethane?
    Thanks for any help.

PPG has a site that you can see what is available for your code. Google PPG, hope this helps.

Up here north of the border, most of the dealerships in my area get their paint from carquest.

I just happened to phone them yesterday about Desert Gold - Code 63!! :beer

It comes in numerous formats, types, and brands. tell them the make, model, year and paint code and your all set!

I'm opting for the base - clear.

Pontiac's name for the same paint color in 1970 was Palamino Copper
It is Coppery Gold color ..very nice!

Thanks for the input! Carl's car is a real gem, so that gives me a bit of inspiration if I want to return the car to its correct color...
BTW, when I bought my Skylark back in 1998, ( non-running), it had been layered with orange, chartreuse, and finally, "Earl Sheib" gold. Beautiful......
    :Dou:
It took a year to remove the 4 layers of paint + 3 layers of primer!

The color is available in R-M b/c, I just looked up the formula on my computer.
That's the nice part about R-M, they have formulated almost every old car color in b/c.
If you need a color spray out of it, I can do it for a reasonable fee.

Once again the old Buicks have had an influence on me. Our 1996 Buick Century was driven by my first 2 sons and is about to be my 3rd sons daily driver. It was in need of some attention after years of neglect. There was hail damage, rust, and minor dents that needed addressed but I didn't want to get rid of the car because I did the head gaskets a couple of years ago and it still only has 74,444 miles on it. To spice up the car from its original factory beige, I went with the 1970 GM code 63, OMNI #2183 base/clear, after wasting a lot of time getting the body back into shape. I think it came out really well.

We sealed it first and the paint actually covered better than expected. Thanks for the opinions Rusty. It's a stunning color and turned orange in the setting sun.
