Thanks Duane, I am very much looking forward to losing the PP front spoiler. I would like to procure as much of your "kit" as possible. Let me know when to send the $ and PM me for the shipping details. Thanks, MarkO.
Once again, I'm asking anyone out there who has purchased one of Duane's '70 front spoilers to post a picture of it here. I can't believe that no one has a picture they can post. I just want to see what I'm buying before I order one. Are these the deep front style like on GSX's or something smaller and less vulnerable to curbs and parking stops? Even a picture of one yet to be installed would help. Thanks is advance.
Joe B, We used an NOS front spoiler from a GSX to create the mold, therefore my spoilers look exactly the same as the originals. I don't have any good pics of ones installed because the shadows form the cars pretty much blot out the spoiler, but here is one on James Weinmans GSX. Duane PS. Once I openly talked about discontinuing the part, it appears that I opened Pandora's "spoiler" box. I have a ton of people that ordered them outside of this forum, so the chances are small that the mold will stay intact by the time I get to your order.
Joe, Here are some close up pics of one of Duane's front spoilers taken from different angles. As he stated above, the center mounting brace is not needed so I didn't drill a hole in mine to install it. Anyone who gets one will be very happy with it. Once they are all gone and the other repro spoilers are all that is available, only then will we all realize just how nice these are. Thanks again, Duane. :TU:
James, Thanks for the pics. jbrauertn, Jeff, I added your name to the list. Joe B, Let me know if you want your name added to the list. Duane
James and Duane, Thanks for the pictures and Duane, go ahead and put me down for one and I'll cross my fingers hoping the die lasts! As far as opening a Pandora's box and getting flooded with orders, maybe so, but there are worse things in life than having your business in demand! At least you're not doing it like some of the oriental rug people here locally do and have a going out of business sale for 6-9 months, only to reopen a few weeks later under a different name (changing 1 letter), sometimes in the same location, only to "go out of business" again! Keep us posted on the status of the mold. Thanks again for the effort and thanks for offering this and the other items for these cars. I don't think that's said enough to those who go to the trouble of making and distributing the parts that we need and use. My .02. Joe
Thanks Duane. Here's hoping the mold lasts! Just out of curiosity, any estimate on wait time? And how many ahead of me? No hurry, just wondering. Thanks, Joe
Joe B, I can't guess on time. We produced a few more after the Nats but right now we are working on other parts and will get back to spoiler production very soon. I am now working on boxes to ship the finished ones and locating more baffle clips. I will contact everyone as I get their parts finished and determine the shipping/total costs. Duane
Duane, Nice meeting and chatting with you today. Thanks again for the great spoiler! Can't wait to mount it up. I know its been said but I will reassure this is a REALLY nice sturdy spoiler! Mike
toss me in line too,i also am in no hurry.1 '72 spoiler & baffle & clips:laugh: hang in there mold!!!!
Update, I will be picking up the cardboard sheets for the boxes sometime before the middle of next week. (I ran out and needed to place another order.) Once I get the boxes I will start contacting everyone and get some total costs together. Chris, I have everyone that requested parts down on the list. moleary, No you did not miss anything. To recap again I can supply the following items, 70 or 71-72 spoilers (with the installation diagram/hardware parts list) $229 70 or 71-72 baffles $55 (6) baffle clips $1 each (need to check on avalability) and the braces are not required. When you buy a spoiler you get an installation sheet that lists the hardware needed for the install. The only hardware I supply are the 6 clips for the baffle. The other "hardware" is regular off the shelf components that you can get at any hardware store, so there is no need for me to buy the nuts/bolts, put them into a kit, and add a mark-up, when you can buy everything locally and cheaper.
