Do 68-69 skylarks share the same parts?

Are the 68-69 Skylark dash bezels & speedo interchangeable? or is this year specific?
This would be for a 68 non / ac car.

I have some lights out and this would be a good time to look around for another bezel, mine is pretty busted up.
and I'm thinking I am going to like the black speedo of the 69 over my silver one.

Yup. I just gutted a rusted out '69 4-door, and one of the items I replaced was my dash. I wanted the 3-speed auto indicator. In fact, I gutted the entire front harness and dash controls, and the padded dash, as I am taking the AC out of the '69, putting in my '68.

That's the answer I was hoping to see, thanks for sharing.
Now I hope good parts are not going to be to hard to find.

The steering column cover is smaller on the 68 because there's no ignition

Correctomundo! I found that out after I transplanted the column, and had to customize the bracket that attaches the steering column to the dash.

Thanks I will let you know, I've been in contact with Doug P. about these parts already.
He is checking, and if he can't help I will contact you to see if yours is still available.

I,m glad you got it to work,
since I do not want to change the column my question is, will the 69 black speedometer fit the 68 bezel and dash wiring?

They look the same. The only difference I can see is that the '68's is silver and the '69's is black, and the shift numbers of course, as the '68 had a ST300 and I have a 350 in it now.

I put my ST300 on the shelf for the TH350 also.
I'm going to pick one up anyway to try out, it'll be apart anyway so it can't hurt.

Heh heh heh. The "shelf" for my old ST300 was in the trunk of a rusted out '72 LeMans I parted out.

If one was going to change the lighting color in a 69 Skylark dash cluster (not in my possession yet)
how many color #194 bulbs would one need to do this? And are they all #194 bulbs back there?
I have a chassis manual but not a service manual that I can find at the moment.

Dash cluster takes 10 bulbs total.

Thanks, I'm gonna take a guess I'll need 4 colored & 6 clear with an additional 2 colored (ba95 style) for the climate controls.

Not sure why you think you need colored bulbs? All bulbs are clear... the lenses in dash bezel change to the colors you see.

Oh... :Dou: I see after rereading your post that you want to change the dash backlighting color? I was thinking you meant indicator bulbs.

So I think there are only 3 backlighting bulbs to change if I recall correctly. Plus the 2 for the climate controls.

I am looking to change the back lighting only.

Yeah sorry... misunderstanding. See my previous post. 5 bulbs total but not sure what that bulb # is.
