How do I make my car run great by eliminating a bunch of vacuum lines and turning the air cleaner lid upside down?

I know some of you think I'm a goofball and wonder why I would do this. Bottom line, I'm too lazy to buy an edelbrock 750 and adapter it on with a low profile ac assy.

So, what can I eliminate? I plan on keeping PCV, brake booster line(duh!), Vacuum advance line. By turning air cleaner lid upside down, I can eliminate air intake valve(little door in ac assy)...why do I need a ported vacuum switch anyway???? Also, what is little electrical gizmo on top of ported vacuum switch? BTW....air pump and system are gone. :)

Running a vent hose up to the front outside corner of the engine compartment (outside of the hot radiator air flow) to your air cleaners snorkel will give you more power than by flipping your lid.... Instant cold air induction.... by getting that same hose to the grill someplace gets you ram air induction.... more power percentage increases simply come from the cooler air entering the carb.....

Your stock Q-Jet is a much better carb than the E-brock ever will be anyways...

I've only seen one case of measurable performance increase by turning the air cleaner lid upside down. One car, but dyno proven. As has been mentioned, running a hose into the snorkel will be way more effective. Leave the choke stove from the exhaust manifold in place, this helps with cold drivability and a quicker warmup. But make sure the flap opens once the car warms up!
