Hi All, I am wondering if I should pursue documenting my GSX. I know it is a GSX, and when and where it was bought as I am the original owner. I still have the original bill of sale, purchase contract and books that it came with as well as the original window sticker. Having said that I am curious when and where it was built and what its production number would be. What do you think should I contact Sloan and Wayne Roberts and see what I can find out about it?? Thanks for the comments and help. Jim
Like 23 and me… Tracing the genetic code all the way back to its origins! I certainly would want to have every piece of documentation I could get. I dropped the gas tank out of mine and got the original tank sticker
It was built in Flint as were all GSX's. Sloan will not have any information as to build date, etc but Wayne will. I would obtain all the information I could as it will do nothing but enhance the value.
Also check with the Dept. of Transportation in the state where you purchased it . Some states can trace a car back to the MSO Manufacturers Statement of Origin. I know for sure NC can do it as I have all my cars info from there . Cost like $10 . There are forms you can submit and list " Research " as the reason. I called a smaller NC office outside any main cities and spoke to a woman and explained what I was attempting to do and asked if it was possible to do and she told me " Honey , I just did a 53 Chevy the other day "
Jim, Pretty awesome you are the original owner. My dad was same way and I sent for the Wayne Roberts docs. Sometimes the cars were sent to a different dealer than the one it was sold at if you did not order it. I also dropped the tank and go the BOPF sheet off the gas tank and the sheet from under the passenger seat. I wanted to has as much documentation as we could get and it is just need to see. He also had his protect-o-plate and original window sticker. Mark
