Does anyone have a picture of a 65 300 motor with a Switch Pitch?

Hey everyone can really use your help. I have a 1966 Buick Skylark with a 300 motor and ST-300 auto trans.

I *really* need a picture of the original carb/switch-pitch setup from a 64 or 65 300 motor to help with my setup.

I recently purchased a cast-iron 4-bbl manifold for the motor, and it was a great upgrade.

I installed an Edelbrock 600CFM carb, and I had to mess around to get the linkage working properly. I want to go to the stock carb, so I purchased this Carter off e-bay, which was listed for a 65 300 w/ Auto trans

This carb dropped into place with one significant difference the switch-pitch does not line up at all. The mounting tab is about in farther out. No way it will work.

Im trying to figure out how to get this carb working. My guess is that either the switch is different, or the mount for the switch is different between the 4bbl and 2bbl carbs.

Does anyone have, or can someone take, a really good picture of their original 4bbl setup from a 64 or 65 car? It would be a great help.

    Thanks!

    Albert

Ok, here is the deal with the switch (have been there before). The 64 and 65 2bbl and 4bbl dash pot and switch brackets are different. They are even different between years. So, going from 2bbl to 4bbl means you need the 4bbl brackets. There may be a way to modify the 2bbl brackets to work, but I have never done it. Someone may have the info on doing it.
It is always easier to get the brackets with the manifold if they were available.
Many times, just the manifold is for sale and the seller doesn't have the brackets.

Hope the pics give you an idea. Good Luck,
    Mark

You are the MAN!! Thanks Mark!!

Judging by your intake color and carb, I'm going to assume this is a '64?

That explains it - the mount is different. Your mount goes out much farther and higher than mine does.

Okie-dokie - next question. Anyone have an old Switch Pitch mount the would like to sell me? PM me or shoot me an e-mail

looks like we posted at the same time. It's super clear the mounting bracket is different.

Yes, 64 Skylark with the original 4bbl setup and carb. Old Rochester 4GC, you have the Carter AFB in the pic. Good carb and about 5lbs lighter than the Rochester.
Took the pics several years ago for someone having the same problem. Good thing I don't clean files off the computer.
Those brackets are hard to find and not likely that anyone will repop them. With some time, you could possibly fabricate some.
Maybe someone out there has a set.
