I know its been discust many times, but does anyone know how many kind (if more than one) of DOG DISH (not full hubcap or mag/rally wheel) were produce for the buick gs from 1970-72??And the steel wheel they were put on, are they one of a kind 'buick steel wheel' or there are other way to get them???
DUDE, IM ON THE SAME PAGE; I WANT TO PUT 15 + 8 GM RALLEYS ON MY 73 WITH I THINK 66 OR 67 GS DOG DISH CAPS BUT HAVENT A CLUE ON WHERE TO FIND THEM WOULD LOOK SWWEEETT!!!!:3gears: :3gears:
Is this the style of Dod dish your after? If so, I see these on the board occasionally for sale, also on E-bay. As for 15" rims, you can use the mid to late 80's 15x7"s off the full size Chev's (Caprice and Impala). They have the same centre "humps" for the dish to snap onto. Hope this helps. Jim
I think its them Jim! Are they the same as those: http://www.v8buick.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=34031&d=1097543094 they looks awesome, do you know from what year they come? And as for the steel wheel, can you get 15x8?? And if so, from what car???
Yes Marc, they are the same as in the link. The 15x8 steels are hard to find, so I just ordered a set from Stockton in CA. They will make you any size and backspace you like.
If yopu ever get a lead on those doggis (or if you sell yours...yeah right:TU: ) pm me jim!thanks for helping me jim, and keep me updated on those 15x8!
Marc, I think this style of dog dish hub caps were avalible on the 70-72 cars. But I may be wrong. I think I have a few extra somewhere that are of driver quality if interested, I'll take a look.
I check stockton on their site, and what are the wheels that you ordered from them, they seem to not have steel wheel for our cars??? (15x8 with 4.75 bolts spacing)???
http://www.stocktonwheel.com/oem_wheels.htm Here ya go Marc, just call them and tell them you you want stock steel OEM wheels 15x8 on 4.75 bolt pattern with whatever backspacing you want. A 4.5" backspace is stock. I'll hunt around this week for the dogs. I think there's a set on the board right now for a good price.
Marc, the centre caps you show in this link are NOT the style I have on mine. Those particular hubs/cap are like the Chevy style Ralley wheel. The difference being that the Ralley style like above snap in on the inside of the humps on the wheel. The style on mine, the cap/dish snaps over/outside on the humps. The ones you show interest in the "parts" section are the style I have.
thanks Jim for helping me out!I have bought the one in parts for sale (like yours!), so dont lose your time finding your others for me, and thanks very much by the way!:TU: :TU: !. If the one on the black car that are not the same as yours and the one on the other black car (1972, no hood), than are they buick dog dish??o No: i think they reaaly looks alike......dont know...
would they be something like that... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chev...tegoryZ34209QQihZ011QQitemZ320073034004QQrdZ1
......man this is getting confusing.......On your car, and on the 1972 black car with no hood, the doggies are the same as the ones for sale that i bought , right?....
i had a tough time locating a set of 4.75" center rims locally. i got a set of original buick ones about 18 months ago from gene & stephanie brown in oklahoma. i think their phone # 580-476-2543. try them, they were reasonable on price and nice to deal with.
