Dominator flange SPX for 4150?

I was just looking at the TA intakes and while looking at the different carburetor styles I had an idea and was just curious what everyone would think.

Just for the record this is just for the topic of discussion and curiosity and not something I am planning on in the near future.

If I am planning to run a Holley square bore carb (4150 style) and was not concerned about intake height do you think it would be beneficial to run a Dominator SPX intake with a 1"-1.5" tapered spacer/adapter with the square bore on top? It seems like with the bigger flange and running the adapter plate that you might get some more flow out of the setup. Also seems like with the tapered spacer you could have better fuel distribution? Not that I believe that to be a problem.

Let me know what you think? Brilliant idea? Or did I waste my time for writing it and your time for reading it?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

Probably a waste of our time. :) The manifold can flow more than the heads already.

Why wouldn't you just run a 4159 flanged spx, with a normal spacer. The taper from the 4150 to the 4500 would take really help at all......that adapter was actually met to run the other way from the 4500 down to 4150. When going from larger to smaller that's where the taper is more needed.

I think a lot of ppl like the spx over the sp1......I personally never have run the x only the sp1 till we got our new te2 heads now we have a sp2. I know some ppl have worked and made adapters and spacers to run the spx on the te2 heads so there must be something to it, I just wonder if there would be enough demand for a direct bolt on for a spx to fit the raised port heads

I called TA Performance about 6 months ago and asked if there is any plans for a raised port SPX. Sherri checked with Mike and confirmed no plans as of that time to make one.
