This is the reason when I wanted a new exhaust on my 70 Riv I went to my local (trusted) muffler shop and had a 2.5 inch custom built for it. It was good quiet and the same price as you spent and it was guaruntteed

Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words! And that says it all. Are those a joke? Gotta be. How can anyone sell crapola like that? Sorry you got burnt Joe. Thanks for the warning.

    1) They're Not even MANDREL BENT!!!!!!!! Notice how the bends shrink from 2.5(?)" to about 2"?

    2) CALL TA!!!! Their STAINLESS RIV exhaust is (almost) perfect.

I spoke with 3 or 4 other 69/70 Riv owners who had it bolt right up (a little mod and fab on the brackets will make it dead on). However, for whatever reason my headpipes didn't fit. I wasn't happy that I had to throw away two expensive headpipes and have new ones made, but in the end I have no quarrels.

It is obvious that my car is the exception, as all the others fit perfectly. And I was introduced to a muffler shop who is AN ARTIST!

TA exhaust and an MSD box dropped my times at least .3 in the quarter.

Call TA. The results will astound you!

Vendors yell the loudest when they know they're beat. They're hoping you'll give up and go away. Bought my exhaust from a local shop and never looked back.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but glad you reversed the charges!!

Also---You better check with Gardner BEFORE you order---They only do OEM REPRO---I haven't ordered from them----so they may not put mandrel bends in the pipes either. If you look at the pics on their website you will see that these have the "shrunken down" bends just like OEM pipes had.

If TA has a MANDREL BENT kit then that is what you want--bigger pipes and bigger bends=better power.

I'm not bagging on Gardner's quality---from what I hear it is excellent---but you need to know what to expect before you buy from them--they serve the resto-OEM correct crowd. Patton

We sell both 304 & 316 stainless steel pipe fittings. I just placed a small flat magnet on one of each material, and could feel the pull. Turned both upside down, and the magnet did not fall off of either one. Now, the thin material of exhaust pipe might be a factor in the degree of attraction? I don't know, I'm no expert on that. Also can't speak for the quality of the ss fittings we have, I believe they are all made in Taiwan.

These guys will make a custom set for you and they are BUICK guys...they even gave me a discount for being a BPG member for an exhaust system on my cutlass. They also make stainless systems too....and let me tell you the cat back system on my cultass fit perfect right down to the clamps and mandrel bent 2.5" system. Not only that it fit so perfect it looks factory and I actually hung from my exhaust system like a monkey while it was on the lift....its that strong and fits that well.....whole aluminized system cost was 300 bucks, minus the mufflers....I bought 2.5" flomaster 40's on ebay for 30 a piece....just my opinion!

  10. Hate to bump, but...

I've been scouring eBay for a dual exhuast muffler for my Wildcat. Low and Behold I find a company that is selling new units! This company is klasskollection on eBay, but when I googled their phone number, I came up with Kepich Exhuast. I googled Kepich Exhuast looking for a website, and I get a link to Joe's thread here!

Joe, I'm glad you posted this. I though this was my source out of the blue for a muffler, but between your posting and ripoffreport.com, I don't believe I will be purchasing from them.

    Here are their eBay listings:

Thanks for the warning on the exjaust issue. I use Klein Muffler in Gulfport, Miss. (yes they are still open and doing fine after the storm). I drive from Mobile, Al. to Gulfport about 80 miles to get my work done. Perfection every time, and mandrel bent.Well worth the drive and time to get exactly what I want.

I also had a good experience with Waldron's Exhaust for my 64 Cat. Did it in stainless. The new owner is a real car guy.
